Mateus Campos is the head of Tax at BVA and has over 14 years of experience in Tax and Wealth Planning, with a solid background in tax consulting. He is involved in all stages of tax structuring, from initial planning to the final implementation of proposed solutions, advising both national and international clients across various industries. In addition to his advisory work, he has extensive experience in strategic tax litigation, assisting clients in resolving complex tax matters.
He holds a master’s degree in Tax Law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) and an LL.M. in Tax Law from Insper. He also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Sciences from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Faculdade de Direito de Ribeirão Preto – Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
He is also a co-author of the book “Contabilidade, IFRS e Tributação,” written in partnership with Professor Sergio André Rocha, an expert in Tax Law and Public Finance at UERJ. Additionally, he co-authored the article “Aproveitamento do Ágio em Operações de Aquisição de Participação Societária em Estágios e Adicional: A (IR)Relevância do Conceito de Controle“, in collaboration with Rodrigo Maito, a tax expert and partner at Dias Carneiro Advogados.
Moreover, Mateus is a professor for the modules “Accounting Aspects of Tax Planning – Direct Taxes” and “Accounting Aspects of Tax Planning – Indirect Taxes” in the Postgraduate Course in Tax Planning and Credit Recovery offered by Legale Educacional.
