Since its founding, BVA has been active in the protection and management of intangible assets, as well as the drafting and negotiation of licensing, technology, franchise, distribution, and R&D partnership agreements, both in Brazil and abroad.

The Intellectual Property area has been one of BVA’s engines since its foundation, being responsible not only for the protection and administrative management of our clients’ intangible assets portfolios in Brazil and abroad but also for the elaboration and negotiation of licensing, transference contracts, technology, franchises, supply, distribution, assignment, RD&I partnerships, among others.

We advise companies in procedures with the INPI and the registration of trademarks, patents, software, industrial designs, and technology contracts, having an extensive portfolio of clients from more than 40 countries and additionally managing portfolios of Brazilian brands in more than 60 countries.

In Copyright, we were recognized three times by the Leaders League as one of the best offices in Brazil (2018, 2019, and 2020).

Among the various industries served, there is a recurring profile of companies in technology, consumer goods, beauty and cosmetics, automotive, pesticides, pharmaceutical laboratories, energy, services, and licensing.

Although the prevention of rights guides the performance of BVA’s Intellectual Property area, we also advise our clients in judicial and extrajudicial disputes related to trademarks, patents, industrial designs, software, domain names, business names, copyrights, know-how, business secrets and confidential information, repression of unfair competition and unfair conduct.
