MetaApply and IE Intercâmbio

In the largest M&A transaction in the student exchange market in recent years, the Brazilian company IE Intercâmbio has joined forces with MetaApply, an Arab leader in the sector and part of a global education group. MetaApply was exclusively advised by BVA as its legal counsel.

Together, the two companies will offer students an even broader range of opportunities to study abroad, with the promise of facilitating access to top programs in key regions such as Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. The transaction was widely covered by several media outlets, including Pipeline (Valor Econômico) and Monitor Mercantil.

Felipe Barreto Veiga, Managing Partner and partner in BVA’s M&A, DCM, Venture Capital and Private Equity practices, commented in an interview with Pipeline on the complexity of the transaction, which represents a landmark deal in the education sector.
