Rafael Teixeira has over 15 years of experience in the market, with a career in top-tier law firms and a solid performance in the M&A sector. Additionally, Rafael possesses international experience that will undoubtedly add significant value for BVA’s foreign clients looking to make acquisitions in Brazil, as well as for clients aiming to sell their companies to international players.

Before joining BVA, he worked at renowned firms such as Veirano Advogados, Madrona Advogados, Stocche Forbes, and Melcheds. He has a consistent academic background acquired at the Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, New York University, and Fundação Getúlio Vargas.

Throughout his career, Rafael has led some of the most iconic M&A, Private Equity, and Venture Capital transactions in the Brazilian market in recent years, involving companies such as Natura, Galápagos Capital, JSL, Nuvini, BTG Pactual, Kovi, Apex Partners, Ambev, Wine.com.br, Helisul Aviação, Pátria Investimentos, Alper Seguros, Grupo Cataratas, Cidade Matarazzo, Gafisa Properties, Singu, and V4 Company.

Under his coordination, the M&A, Corporate Law, and Venture Capital teams at BVA have been recognized in the IFLR 1000 and Legal 500 rankings in 2022 and 2023. They were also listed as a firm conducting the most transactions according to TTR Data.

Rafael has been individually recognized by Lacca Approved, organized by the Latin America Corporate Counsel Association (LACCA), in the Corporate Law and M&A practices in 2023 and 2024, and by Leaders League in the Venture Capital area in 2024.

He is the author of articles and publications in Portuguese and English. Additionally, he is a professor and frequently contributes to major media outlets, such as Valor Econômico, Globo News, Exame, Estadão, Forbes (US), Yahoo Finance, and StartSe.

Rafael is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA), and the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).

  • Advising one of the largest car rental companies in the country in acquisitions of other companies operating in the sector, thus enabling its solidification and expansion in the Brazilian market.
  • Advising on the expansion of one of the largest drug distributors in Brazil through the acquisition of several Brazilian companies operating in the same sector, structuring and integrally conducting M&A operations and negotiations.
  • Coordination and conduction of the asset sale operation of one of the largest car assemblers in the world, from the audit stage and negotiation of the final documents of the operation.
  • Direct assistance to one of the largest fuel distributors in Brazil in M&A transactions involving the purchase of other companies in the sector, with the objective of expanding its business nationally and abroad.
  • Coordination and conduction of the technology company acquisition transaction by one of the largest financial institutions in Brazil, covering all phases of the project, including the coordination of the due diligence process and the preparation and negotiation of the final instruments of the transaction.
  • Direct involvement in M&A operations of one of the largest global franchisors in the food industry, with the objective of expanding the production chain of inputs used in its area of ​​operation.
  • Assistance to the company responsible for organizing motor racing championships, consisting of the coordination and elaboration, analysis, and review of all contracts related to the championships, including, but not limited to, sponsorship and licensing contracts and assignment of use of the cars used in all categories of such championships.
  • Direct involvement in corporate reorganizations carried out by one of the largest transport companies in Brazil, involving companies based in Brazil and abroad.
  • Advice in the areas of corporate law and contracts for one of the largest industrial conglomerates in Latin America, with a presence in more than 19 countries.
