Marcelo is the head of the Banking, Financial Services, DCM, and Digital Assets practice at BVA. With over 14 years of experience in renowned law firms, Marcelo has led and participated in significant financial transactions both in Brazil and internationally, amounting to over US$ 35 billion and R$ 25 billion, respectively.

Among his notable engagements is the project financing for public lighting in Rio de Janeiro and the establishment of a smart city, achieved through incentivized debenture issuance in Brazil. This project was honored as the Deal of The Year in 2021. Additionally, Marcelo contributed to structuring Brazil’s inaugural organized over-the-counter market for secondary investment trading via crowdfunding, operating under the first Regulatory Sandbox of the CVM (Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission). He also played a key role in restructuring the debts of one of the country’s largest infrastructure conglomerates, totaling US$ 10 billion.
